1/ Talk Talk transitioned from their very successful Synth Pop sound to Experimental Rock, on the verge of Jazz.
While many bands in the 80s were thriving with the synth pop helm, Talk Talk decided to transition into more experimental grounds after their very successful ''Color of Spring'' album. They went on to entrench new minimalistic attitudes towards music, ones that involved mindful inclusion of negative space and stripped down, outright reductionist MICing techniques.
2/ Talk Talk had a fierce battle with EMI records
Talk Talk had heavy battle with EMI over creative rights. While EMI necissateted the band stands with its already successful sound, Talk Talk wanted to expand and explore more musical terrains. Eventually the battle led to Talk Talk dropping out from EMI and signing to Verve Records, a jazz label.
3/ Mark Hollis, lead singer, disappeared in mist after ''Laughing Stock'' album
Mark Hollis was known to be very reclusive and a family man. After recording the album ''Laughing Stock'', he disappeared, to reappear once more for a minimal solo album, and back into mist for final.
